JANUARY BOOK CLUB

I've tried to integrate my love of reading into Corridor in a few ways. A few years ago, I'd write very descriptive essays on each product web page describing either the feeling or an imagined circumstance for each one. I love doing it but due to time restrictions and the amount of products we make; I no longer do it.

Reading is part of who I am - I read every day and it's a mixture of literature (new and old), spiritual texts (new and old), a little bit of history, and an occasional self-help book. Primarily, I'm interested in transcendental storytelling but I also love the art of writing. For me, the most satisfying books are works that express deep truths - so I'm always searching for the next profound work, however elusive. The Book Club will feature my recommendations — some old, some new — with the hope that you’ll find something meaningful, joyful, or inspirational inside.

xo,
Dan

ANGLE OF REPOSE

By Wallace Stegner

This is a book that will leave you with a warm embrace for years to come. It's a masculine romance that taps into the beauty of the American West written by an artist.

BHAGAVAD GITA

This is like recommending the Bible, Quran, or Talmud - it's beyond simple recommendation - however, it took me 40 years before I made it to this book. It contains so much of life and I am humbled before it. Buy it, or listen to it - keep it on your shelf and read it when you can.

THE GUEST

By Emma Cline

The Guest is a gloriously debauched tale of contemporary NY society through the lens of an incisive interloper. She writes with the observational detail of a zoologist on safari except it's a hooker talking about rich people - it's hilarious and cringe and many times a ridiculously accurate portrayal of a NY social class.
