For the feeling of summer, and 1950, and 1970, I present to you the Teal Madras. Authentic madras, made in Madras by Madrasis (current name: Chennai; Chennaites; also Madrasis). Anyway you cut it, it's a beautiful pair of shorts made in the way they should be. Heavy washed madras with all of the beautiful colors that you'd expect from us for either your business casual life, or a summer wedding or because you're a prep god and need summery madras shorts to pair with your boat shoes, generally rich person hair and croakies - you will be ready for the South Carolinian heat among ladies in sundresses who are also wearing croakies and definitely using vintage and/or university-specific koozies, drinking as you do in the midday sun, but not to worry - there are 100-year-old elms for shade and you're seated on an ever so slightly peeling adirondack chair. These shorts are for you or can take you there.
Alternatively, they are really nice with a blazer for the summer affair that may turn into the former story. Regardless, it should be a good time.

What does responsibility mean? People talk a lot about transparency and sustainability. I think the sum is responsibility. For Corridor, this means that we actually work in the factory with the tailors every season to create the garments and ensure the workshops are environmentally certified (ISO 9001) and socially accountable (SA 8000). You can feel good knowing where and how the garment was made.
This garment was a made in 3rd generation, open air workshop with on site day care, garden, paying a living wage to the artisans who made the goods. The workshop is located in Madras, India and melds the new (Japanese sewing machines) and the old (hand embroidery, hand loomed fabrics, natural dying) for a product that is authentic and contemporary. This is a mostly woman operated factory and is partnered with a rehabilitation center for women encountering domestic violence. We work out of the workshop for approximately two months of the year.
