The Taupe T-Shirt features a medium-heavyweight slub jersey and single chest pocket. The color is that very subtle place between camel, military green and khaki and is fairly reminiscent of an old army t-shirt. Anyway, the color feels fresh and works with everything in your fall wardrobe. The cotton has the nice tension and subtle slubbing for a super wearable t-shirt.
What does responsibility mean? People talk a lot about transparency and sustainability. I think the sum is responsibility. For Corridor, this means that we actually work in the factory with the tailors every season to create the garments and ensure the workshops are environmentally certified (ISO 9001) and socially accountable (SA 8000). You can feel good knowing where and how the garment was made. This garment was a made in 3rd generation, open air workshop with on site day care, garden, paying a living wage to the artisans who made the goods. The workshop is located in Madras, India and melds the new (Japanese sewing machines) and the old (hand embroidery, hand loomed fabrics, natural dying) for a product that is authentic and contemporary. This is a mostly woman operated factory and is partnered with a rehabilitation center for women encountering domestic violence. We work out of the workshop for approximately two months of the year.
